IofC Nigeria on a Mission to Celebrate Light in the Dark

Initiatives of Change Nigeria is committed to partnering with change propagating initiatives. As all round positive change is part of our core values, we join initiatives with government agencies/organizations and individuals in propagating this laudable campaign.

In our bid to realise our global vision, we observe an annual event by the name ‘Celebrating The Unseen’ (CTU). CTU is an event where individuals, institutions and organizations which have distinguished themselves in terms of hard work, integrity, commitment and honesty in the society, are honoured and celebrated. At the event individuals who are selflessly committed to rendering exceptional services in their own small ways are also appreciated; as was the case at past events.

In 2010, some outstanding staff of the Lagos State Waste Management Authority were honoured and celebrated for their hard work and commitment to service. December 21, 2013 witnessed IofC Nigeria celebrating individuals that are not in the public limelight.

Preparations for the 2014 annual event to be held on 13 December, is in top gear. Among other awards to be given will be a posthumous award to the late Dr. Adadevoh and First Consultants Medical Centre (Obalene, Lagos) for their efforts in combating the Ebola Virus.

To this end, the volunteer team of IofC Nigeria visited the hospital – First Consultants Medical Centre - on 6 November, 2014 and had a great time interacting with some of the staff as they exchanged gestures for victory over the Ebola virus scourge.

In addition, on the 8 November, 2014, the IofC Nigeria team paid a visit to the Nigerian Red Cross Motherless and Abandoned babies home, Modupe Cole Child Care Home, at Yaba, Lagos as well as SOS Children village at Isolo, Lagos. The team was received warmly, sanitization routine was observed at the visited places and love was shared with all the kids.
