IofC in Brief

Who we are: Initiatives of Change (IofC) is a world-wide movement of people of diverse cultures and backgrounds, who are committed to the transformation of society through changes in human motives and behaviour, starting with their own.

The visitors were welcomed at the Parliament of White Nile State with dancing by the Fellata community, who are of Nigerian Hausa origin

Purpose: We work to inspire, equip and connect people to address world needs, starting with themselves, in the areas of trustbuilding, ethical leadership and sustainable living.

Handing over of flags from Louis-Coordinator of Rwanda Forum to Mark- Coordinator for next forum in Burundi (Photo: Mbindyo Kimanthi) The fourth Eastern Africa Youth Forum (EAYF) shall take place in Bujumbura, Burundi from 17-22 February, 2014. The theme of the forum ‘Responsible Youth; Bridge to Sustainable Peace and Development.’

The first forum of this kind was hosted in Kenya in February 2011 under the theme ‘Beyond me…it’s time to act’. Delegates present identified eight core needs that need to be responded to by the youth in the region. Uganda hosted the second forum in Kampala in February 2012 under the theme, ‘Youths for peace: Together making it happen’. The third forum was held in Kigali, Rwanda in February 2013 themed ‘Moral values: the key to a brighter future’.
