'Is the best of peace or the worst of conflict coming to Africa?' A detailed eight page report of the second East Africa Youth Conference, which took place in Uganda between 7-12 February 2012, is now available.

Kenya I Care team continues to reach out to young people. The Initiatives of Change (IofC) Subukia and Nakuru teams have been relentless in their efforts to reach out to young people and inspire change. In churches, youth groups, learning institutions….wherever there are young people; you will find someone from Subukia with the message of caring for Kenya.

Many students still ask themselves, ‘What part can I play in making a difference in my immediate society?’ and ‘who are the people I can work with to effect change’? And in an effort to collectively create answers to these questions, Initiatives of Change Kenya has been partnering with Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology to create a platform for students to come together and search for answers.

Samuel Muiruri, a graduate of Harambee Africa Leadership Programme, has acquired another name, Mr Plastic Bottles! He has been collecting plastic bottles in Nakuru and using them as building blocks.

Initiatives of Change (IofC) has been involved in the African Great Lakes region since 2000. It is within this context that in June 2012, IofC offered the opportunity to leading Burundian political figures from all sides to come together for a week in Caux, Switzerland, to reflect on the ethics of leadership and how to develop the skills needed in order to play a constructive role in peacebuilding.
