The Cameroon Association for Moral Re-Armament/Initiatives of Change (CAMRA/IC), in collaboration with the African Co-ordination Group (ACG) of IofC International, is pleased to announce that an All Africa Moral Re-Armament Conference will take place in Yaounde, Cameroon, from 7 to 11 May 2012 on the theme: 'Governance, Leadership and Corruption in Africa - what hope for the Continent's youth?'
Topical issues to be discussed which are high on the Agenda of our continent include:
- What are the ingredients of good governance, and how do we get them adopted across Africa?
- What types of leaders do we need in Africa - and how do we get them in place?
- What can we do to prevent and challenge mismanagement and corruption in our communities and nations?
- What successes in fighting corruption? Case studies of what works and how to use them in other situations
- What steps can we take individually to promote good governance where it will make a difference?
The intention of this five-day event is to draw from the experience of those who have succeeded in tackling governance and leadership challenges in Africa and elsewhere and use their lessons and inputs to mobilize those committed to Africa to join together in endeavours to make our continent a place of security and progress for all its peoples.
The conference will be interactive, working off presentations by experts and public figures, and bringing the issues down to what those on the ground can do to make a difference. The outcome will be a set of recommendations and an action plan that can be taken forward by those prepared to take up the challenges presented.
The Conference will take place at the John XXIII Catholic Centre in Mvolye, Yaounde, Cameroon.
The discussions will be conducted in English and French, with simultaneous interpretation.
Day visitors for 5 days (conference materials, coffee-breaks and lunches included): 40 US$ (20,000 CFA Francs)
If you wish to participate in the conference, please send us an email indicating your intention as soon as possible.
Closing date for applications is 31 March 2012.
More detailed information will be communicated shortly.
