How do we make democracy real and what makes democracy real? From the youths' perspective, how do we contribute to a Clean Election process in the nation? Initiatives of Change, Nigeria will be hosting about 35 Youth Leaders in Nigeria in an open dialogue towards engineering a clean election process in the largest black nation in Africa. Our focus is to engage these top leaders among youths in a discussion towards 'Making Democracy Real '. Root Cause Analysis of electioneering mishaps in the Nation will be adopted, recommendations on clean election strategies will be gathered from participants and also youth engagement models will be developed towards a campaign for a clean election process in the Nation's 2015 election.

Making Democracy Real (MDR)

The leadership of youth led initiatives; students' organizations and student union government in Nigerian institutions are invited for this strategic dialogue and open discussion on the subject. Learning from the Nation's Democracy’s Journey, participants will have to draw a structure on the causes and effects of the past events; the dialogue will reflect on the lessons of the journey so far and the challenges and opportunities that lay ahead. MDR 2014 will be staged at the most populated city in Nigeria - Lagos State.
