'Change in Progress' is an initiative to address the needs of teenagers in different communities. The seed thought was inspired by Cleo Mohloadi who explains: 'I see enormous needs in Kagiso (Krugersdorp, Johannesburg), where I live, and in the rest of my country, especially in the areas of education, restoration of human esteem and mutual respect, moral awakening, leadership and service to each other. We need to promote individual commitment to build an environment of peace around us.'
'Change in Progress' is a tool designed to equip and transform teenagers, helping them to make better choices in their lives by going through a five day camp acquiring skills in leadership, moral and spiritual discovery, art of service, identity, importance of nature and constructive peace building. This will be followed by the second phase of another five days of field work, putting into practice what the have learnt by offering their time in clinics, old age homes and orphanages as well as cleaning up their communities.
The first camp takes place 5–9 December at Rocky Valley Christian Camp and Retreat Centre, half an hour's drive from Pretoria and Johannesburg in Krugersdorp Gauteng. The second phase is from 12-16 December. For further information please email Cleo Mohloadi.
