Creators of Peace meeting in Burundi

"The joy was great in November 28, 2014 when most of Burundi peacemakers met. It was a very emotional moment. From all corners of Burundi, they were there. The National Coordinator and Deputy Coordinator led activities that were enhanced by the word of the International President of the Women Creators of Peace - also responsible for Creators of Peace in Burundi. Some members of Initiatives of Change International, including Angelo Barampama, honored us with their presence.

A group of Democratic Republic of Congo was present. Burundi, often described as the "heart of Africa" has become a real heart that day. This heart makes peacemakers going across borders. This is an immeasurable wealth. Everything is possible. Together we are stronger.

After a moment of silence during which we were invited to connect us to all the peacemakers who have experienced difficult times, participants took a moment to write down their concerns and put them in a beautiful basket.

Just after, followed a moment to celebrate happy moments. Some participants were invited to take the light from a large candle and to share it with the rest of the participants. A symbol that tells us a lot because if my light goes out, my neighbor can carry me and give me this heat. If I did not have the strength to keep the light around me, he will make it back for me. Each participant was then invited to file its light, a symbol of all joys, around the large candle. It was a highlight in emotion. What a burning bush!

Then came the highlight of the evening, when the head of the Burundi Peace Circles announced that trainees would receive facilitators Level Certificates 3. What a nice surprise! You had to be there, in live with us, because I can’t find the right words to express it.

A convivial moment closed this beautiful and warm evening of 28 November 2014. "
