We wish to announce the upcoming Eastern Africa Youth Conference which will take on 8-13 February, 2011 in Kenya with the theme ‘BEYOND ME…It is time to act!’
Eastern Africa Youth Conference (EAYC) is a youth conference aiming at young people between the ages of 18-35 years. It is designed to guide young people towards ethical living and leadership. It is a programme of Initiatives of Change (IofC), a network of people committed to the transformation of society based on change in individuals starting with themselves.
During the conference, participants will be challenged to examine their relationships and role in society. This will be done through workshops, times of reflection, plenary sessions and community work.
An Africa that is economically prosperous, politically vibrant, ecologically sustainable and socially inclusive; a continent of people who celebrate their cultural heritage and diversity, bringing hope to the world. (Developed by Harambee 5 participants 2009 in Ethiopia and adopted by EAYC)

EAYC conference will start on the 8 -13 February, 2011.

The conference will cost $150 (Ksh12, 000)
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
Determined and upcoming young African leaders involved with IofC activities from the eight Eastern Africa countries (Ethiopia, Uganda, Sudan, Rwanda, Tanzania, Burundi, Somalia and Kenya) who are eager for a changed society, and are ready to explore change in their own lives as part of bringing integrity and positive changes in the society.
A total of 80 successful candidates will be selected from Eastern Africa and four participants from any other African country. Prospective candidates will need to have support and recommendation from their local IofC team.
