IofC in Brief

Who we are: Initiatives of Change (IofC) is a world-wide movement of people of diverse cultures and backgrounds, who are committed to the transformation of society through changes in human motives and behaviour, starting with their own.

The visitors were welcomed at the Parliament of White Nile State with dancing by the Fellata community, who are of Nigerian Hausa origin

Purpose: We work to inspire, equip and connect people to address world needs, starting with themselves, in the areas of trustbuilding, ethical leadership and sustainable living.

Effective Living (Part 1)

A six hour workshop under the theme Effective Living (Part 1) was carried out by Initiatives of Change (IofC) Kenya in Juja, on the 16 May 2015, for a South Sudanese Community living in Kiambu and Nairobi County. The aim was to introduce Initiatives of Change (IofC) to them, inspire responsible living as well as introspection on individual relationships and actions and to study how they influence the society.

The programme is aimed at equipping these young people with leadership skills and in particular how they can be part of the peace and reconciliation work in South Sudan.

Another workshop will be held soon to explore in depth how personal change can affect global change.

‘We need more of these workshops in order to learn how to become better peacemakers and play our role effectively,' said Simon Loka, who was the coordinator of the South Sudan group.
