Message from Holly K. Shaw, Ph.D., RN, Associate Professor

Greetings from a Teacher in a Changing World
Dear esteemed colleagues and valued friends,
It is my pleasure to send this greeting to you from New York, USA. I am so sorry that I cannot be with you in person as planned, but be assured that I am with you in spirit, intention and commitment. I am honored and pleased to collaborate in the Global School Partnership as the Director of the USA Delegation. We are certain this collaboration will benefit students, teachers and societies worldwide.
In this time of global economic instability and uncertainty, armed conflict and combat, climate dysregulation, and, for many peoples of the world, decreased resources, and diminished quality of life and well being, it is exceeding important for us to create partnerships that can optimize our unique contributions while celebrating diversity. By sharing our resources and learning from each other, we will find innovative methods to address these critical issues, solve problems, and build social capital.
My colleagues at Universities, in the US and other countries, the United Nations, Board of education, and private education foundations look forward to creating bridges by which we can meet and share best practices and innovations in our rapidly changing global environment.
I look forward to our ongoing partnership and the opportunity to network, train, develop and inspire teachers who will stimulate and guide their students to pursue high levels of education and personal aspiration. Allocating appropriate resources in order to provide students with the technology necessary to facilitate their growth and meet the demand for skilled communicators will be a major beginning priority for US and Uganda professionals. The world is indeed changing and we must prepare the next generation to meet the challenges of change. I am certain that our commitment will direct our teams to realize our goals and to lead the next generation to create a world in which excellence, altruism and integrity ensure well being and prosperity for all.
I extend my best regards to each of you along with the happy anticipation that soon we will sit together in person to contemplate and carry out the next steps. Until then, I remain your grateful and humble colleague.
