Please pray for us and with us. Following the reconciliation meeting that happened in Baringo County on 27 May 2015, where the women from Pokot community apologized to the women of the other communities in Baringo County, the Creators of Peace Kenya team will be having a consultative meeting with community leaders from the different communities on Monday 22 June, 2015.

The meeting is to help Creators of Peace (CoP) bring on board the leaders as they plan to give a strong focus to the county. It shall also be a platform for the leaders to help the team map the key areas to run more Peace Circles. The CoP team hopes to train 1000 women (50 Peace Circles) and run 15 Dialogue meetings, reaching 1500 community members between June 2015 - Dec 2016.

Bringing these community, administrative and political leaders from the different communities together is not an easy thing. In January 2015, when CoP held another meeting with a few leaders, some of the leaders from the Ilchamus and Tugen communities refused to take part. They said they cannot sit in the same room with the Pokots. We pray that all shall be well and that the leaders shall leave there united and in support of the work of CoP.

The apology by the women has elicited a lot of interest from leaders from all levels. We are grateful to God for the courageous steps these women have taken to bury their differences and reconcile. The meeting with the community leaders is yet another step towards the peace process. We need your support in prayers that all goes well.
