Recently Baringo county, Kenya, has been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons. Fresh violence has hit the area, killing dozens of people and forcing many to flee their homes. Twenty-one police officers were ambushed and killed by bandits in Pokot. In a difficult context of violence and castle-rustling, three Peace Circles- in Kabarnet, Sandai (Bogoria) and Marigat reaching 48 women from the Tugens, Endorois and Ilchamus communities - addressed some of the root causes and equipped women to become peace-makers.

An international conference to build a culture of reconciliation, sustainability and empowerment took place at the University of Free State, Bloemfontein, from 26 to 30 September 2014.

For the first time two Creators of Peace Circles took place in Mombasa City, the second-largest city in Kenya, on 21-23 July, 2014 and 24-26 July, 2014 respectively reaching the hearts and minds of 32 women in total.

Fifty years is not a negligible duration when one is contemplating how long something that should be changed, has gone on for. This tends to be especially true when the change in question should be made by the other person.

GRACE KIBUKU (NAKURU)In 1987, Grace Kibuku embarked on helping glue sniffing street children. She quitted her college studies to help these young people who were being subjected to commit crimes. This did not endear Grace to the thugs who were loosing their livelihood as a result of her efforts to rehabilitate the young people and she continuously faced death threats.
